Govt to strengthen AI safeguards against deepfakes, misinformation and scams

Putrajaya will continue strengthening measures to address threats from the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI), including deepfake technology, the spread of false information and online scams, as Malaysia develops its national AI ecosystem.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo said while the government remained committed to expanding AI adoption among the public and industry, security and user trust could not be overlooked.
