Microsoft Invests Rp 27 Trillion as Indonesia Prepares to Become Southeast Asia’s AI Hub

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Microsoft has officially poured in an investment worth Rp 27 trillion to strengthen cloud services and the development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Indonesia. This move bolsters Indonesia’s position as a potential digital powerhouse in Southeast Asia, in line with government support through increasingly prepared regulations and infrastructure.

The commitment was affirmed during a meeting between Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, Deputy Minister Nezar Patria, and Microsoft Indonesia President Director Dharma Simorangkir at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Thursday (17 April 2025).
