Malaysia nets $3.7b in digital investments in first 4 months of 2025

Malaysia has secured 16.2 billion ringgit (around US$3.7 billion) in approved digital investments from January to April 2025 under its Malaysia Digital (MD) initiative, according to Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.

These investments are projected to create 6,480 job opportunities.

Of the 148 companies granted MD status during this period, 27% were artificial intelligence firms. Additionally, 23% were involved in data centers and cloud services, while 11.5% provided global business services.
