RM2bil sovereign AI cloud to safeguard security, boost talent - PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's RM2 billion investment in a sovereign AI cloud is aimed at strengthening national security, developing local talent, and ensuring the country does not remain only a consumer of global technology, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.

Speaking at the Temu Anwar session at UCSI University today, Anwar said that while Malaysia maintains an open investment framework and continues to welcome global technology investments, it also has safeguards for national security and data privacy.
