Indonesia seeks AI sovereignty through local models, digital talent

Indonesia is building the foundation for artificial intelligence (AI) sovereignty through the development of an ecosystem that includes local AI models, computing infrastructure, and the strengthening of digital talent.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria, in a statement here on Thursday, said that mastery of AI in the future would not only be about technological innovation but would also become part of a country's strategic position in the global technology supply chain.
