AI risks spur child data protection push

Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) office is accelerating efforts to strengthen the protection of children's rights in the digital age through a collaboration with the Thailand office of Unicef amid growing concerns over the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on young users.

Recent discussions included Muhamad Rafique Khan, chief of child protection at Unicef, and Santi Sirithirajesd, child protection specialist at Unicef Thailand, as well as senior officials from the PDPC office, to explore policy frameworks and safeguards for children's personal data in an increasingly AI-driven environment.
