[PRESS RELEASE] AXONS and PTTEP Win 2025 ASEAN Enterprise Innovation Award, Showcasing Projects in IOT -Enabled Shrimp Farming and AI Driven Operational Excellence
Bangkok, 16 July 2025- From 32 nominations in 2017 to 115 this year, the annual ASEAN Innovation Business Platform (AIBP) Enterprise Innovation Awards recognises Southeast Asian organisations successfully adopting innovative technology to digitally transform their businesses. Out of this year's submissions, 74 nominations were shortlisted as finalists.
Notably, close to 50% of nominations featured artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) initiatives. Southeast Asia is swiftly emerging as an AI powerhouse, with over US$30 billion invested in regional AI infrastructure in the first half of 2024 alone, driving governments and enterprises to rapidly expand data centres and innovation labs. Falling AI deployment costs and rapid technological advancements are lowering barriers, particularly for SMEs, accelerating AI adoption across sectors like financial services, energy, and manufacturing, and positioning ASEAN as a leading innovation hub in the Intelligent Age.

CPF IT Center Co., Ltd. (AXONS) and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) emerged as the winners from Thailand for the Open and Data & AI category respectively, and received their awards at the AIBP Conference and Exhibition, held on 16 - 17 July, at the Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai in Bangkok
Endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Digital Economy Promotion Agency and National, the event spotlighted advancements in Thailand’s digital landscape while addressing the challenges faced by local enterprises and public service organisations in adopting digital transformation.
The AquaPro project by AXONS is driving sustainability and productivity in shrimp farming by transforming traditional practices through real-time IoT sensors, water quality monitoring, digital farm management, and digitalized data collection that enables AI/ML-driven analysis. Successfully piloted, AquaPro has delivered measurable gains in productivity, efficiency, and resource management, while significantly reducing environmental impacts. This aligns with the broader digital transformation and sustainability goals of Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF). AXONS is the IT infrastructure developer and service provider for CPF, a major agro-industrial and food conglomerate founded in Thailand in 1978, employing over 100,000 people globally with a market capitalisation of approximately US$5.3 billion (THB 191.82 billion).
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) is transforming its global energy operations with advanced AI-driven predictive analytics, significantly improving maintenance accuracy and reducing downtime across production facilities. Successfully deployed across multiple global assets, this innovative solution accurately predicts equipment failures, delivering measurable operational improvements and substantial cost savings.
